Police Information for Parents and Pupils. Hampshire Constabulary is developing a closer relationship with schools in the area. In line with government policy, Romsey Police are committed to maximising co-operation between our school and other agencies. This is an effort to identify any issues at an early stage and then the issues whatever they are can be dealt with appropriately. Representatives from school including Mr Bell, Mr Findlater and Mrs Powell meet up with the Police Team regularly to discuss current issues in and around school and the town as well as pupils. PC D ick Morse is the officer directly responsible for policing matters in Romsey School area. He will be making regular visits on site at break and at lunchtime and will become a familiar figure around school. PC Steve Wildridge is a PC also based in Romsey and he is the Antisocial Behaviour Co-ordinator for our area. This job involves dealing with young people whose behaviour is impacting on the community. Vanessa Davies of Test Valley Borough Council makes up the Police Team. The Team will be further supported by a PCSO (police community support officer) who is due to arrive shortly. Their role is to be the eyes and ears of the police in the community and primarily this officer will be involved in tackling minor crimes like antisocial behaviour, causing a nuisance outside the school gates at 3.00pm, damage, grafitti, littering, truancy, and confiscation of illegal substances.Their patrol areas will include in and around school particularly at lunchtime and after school. Should problems occur to and from school we do hope pupils will get to know the officers and inform them of any concerns and worries they may have.
